Amazon Game Studios announced yesterday that its party hack-and-slash game King of Meat is heading to a shut down on April 9. While it had a promising initial launch (with a Mr. Beast sponsored video), the game did not meet expectations, so it will be shutdown in less than two months. While purchases of the game and in-game currency are now disabled, existing players can still play the game until the April 9 shutdown.

Following the launch of King of Meat, it’s been incredibly rewarding to watch the community enjoy this fun and chaotic world.
Despite the creativity and innovation Glowmade brought to King of Meat, the game has unfortunately not found the audience we hoped for. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to conclude our investment in the game, and King of Meat’s servers will close on April 9, 2026. Players will be able to access and play all existing content until then, so we encourage you to enjoy your remaining time in the game with your fellow Contenders.
All players who purchased King of Meat will receive a full refund in the coming weeks from their platform provider.
We want to sincerely thank every player who supported King of Meat and the wonderful community that formed around it. Your enthusiasm, imagination, and feedback have meant the world to us and to the team at Glowmade. King of Meat Shutdown FAQs
When is King of Meat shutting down?
King of Meat will officially sunset on April 9, 2026. After this date, servers will be taken offline, and the game will no longer be playable.
Can I still buy the game or buy stamps?
No. Starting February 23, 2026, King of Meat will be unavailable on all storefronts, and all in-game purchases for Stamps have been disabled.
Am I eligible for a refund?
Yes. We are issuing refunds for all players who purchased the game, as well as any Stamp packs purchased.
How do I get my refund?
Refunds will be handled directly by the platform where you purchased the game (e.g., Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, etc.). In most cases, the refunds will be processed automatically between February 24 and April 9.
What if I haven’t received my refund by the shutdown date?
If your refund has not been processed by April 9, 2026, please contact the customer support team for your specific platform, as we do not manage the transactions directly.
Can I still play King of Meat?
If you already own King of Meat and have it installed on your device, you can continue to play normally until April 9, 2026.
What should I do with my remaining Stamps?
You are welcome to spend any remaining Stamps in your account on existing content until the final shutdown date. Please note that all currency will disappear once the servers go offline.
Will there be any more content updates?
No. There are no further content updates, balance changes, or bug fixes planned for King of Meat during this sunset period.
