A Big Upset – E3 2020 Cancelled

It’s been everywhere. All over the news. On social media. Even in your email inbox. No, we’re not talking about the new Ghost of Tsushima trailer, unfortunately, but the coronavirus.

Multiple large-scale events have had to be cancelled or rescheduled as a result of the virus, and closer-to-home for the gaming industry, it appears as though the largest gaming convention is down for the count.

As per a recent tweet from Developer Digital, E3 2020 originally appeared to be unlikely as per coronavirus concerns.

*Cries in refunds*

Confirming this is the ESA (the body that hosts the E3) in a recent, regrettable statement.

“After careful consultation with our member companies regarding the health and safety of everyone in our industry – our fans, our employees, our exhibitors and our longtime E3 partners – we have made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020, scheduled for June 9-11 in Los Angeles.”

Though not all is bad; it’s likely that an online presence will take place instead, and you can count on us to cover it.
