This week, Toho announced that a special anniversary mix of You Say Run, a fan-favorite My Hero Academia theme song, is now available. The new version of the song celebrates the 10th anniversary of the My Hero Academia anime, with Yuki Hayashi collaboration with German band Electric Callboy.

Known for hit songs such as “Hypa Hypa” and their BABYMETAL collaboration “RATATATA,” Electric Callboy’s Kevin Ratajczak and Nico Sallach connected with Hayashi, who envisioned English lyrics for the 10th-anniversary soundtrack. Toho’s music team sought international artists who could deliver powerful shouts and melodic vocals that match the high-energy worldview of My Hero Academia, leading to the Electric Callboy feature.
“We are beyond excited to have this opportunity to add our vocals to ‘You Say Run’,” said Ratajczak. “The melody of ‘You Say Run’ is so powerful and uplifting—we just absolutely love this song!” Sallach added, “Working on this track was pure fun, and it was a huge honor to collaborate on it. We can’t wait for everyone to hear it! We really hope you’re as excited for it as we are.”
The newly reimagined version featuring Electric Callboy combines the track’s original orchestral sound with Electric Callboy’s mix of EDM and pop hooks to create a fresh take on the fan-favorite composition ten years after the anime first premiered. “‘You Say Run,’ one of the signature tracks representing My Hero Academia, has been reborn with an unprecedented surge of energy by fusing with the incredible vocals of Electric Callboy,” said Hayashi. “I am deeply honored and thrilled to share this special sound born from the intersection of our shared energy.”
To celebrate the release, Bones Film unveiled an exclusive new illustration featuring Izuku Midoriya (“Deku”) performing a powerful “SMASH,” paying homage to the Season 1 original soundtrack cover. “I truly hope the song crosses borders and genres, reaches as many hearts as possible, and resonates passionately with everyone,” said Hayashi. “And while the track is absolute perfection, the cover art is top-tier too! Plus Ultra!”
Marking a decade since the anime’s debut, My Hero Academia remains one of the most successful anime franchises worldwide. Following the conclusion of Kohei Horikoshi’s manga in August 2024, after selling over 100 million copies globally, the series spans eight seasons, 170+1 episodes, and four feature films.
