Crunchyroll Store Updating Next Month, Begins Clearout Sale

Today, Crunchyroll announced that its Crunchyroll Store will be heading into a new direction starting this August. Focused on curated drops and limited-release products, this new experience will be available for Mega and Ultimate tier fans exclusively. For remaining stock that won’t transfer to the new store, there will be a sale running starting today that will offer items such as manga and blu-ray at a steep discount.

About the Crunchyroll Store Update

From the FAQ document provided by the company, the Crunchyroll Store will transition this August, and will only be available for those who have subscribed to the Mega and Ultimate Fan tier (the regular Fan tier and free users will not be able to access the store.) During this transition, gift cards will be supported for use until August 14 of this year. The account and order history for past orders will be available as well.

While this is a bit of a blow for those looking to have more access to manga and anime, the company promises that this new store experience will be catered to fans with newer limited-time drops. Additionally, there is an ongoing sale that will run until the revamped Crunchyroll Store appears in August.
